Glossary term
A change in the relationship between inputs and the correct output over time.
In concept drift the relationship between inputs and the right answer changes, even if the inputs look similar. For example, what counts as fraudulent behavior changes as fraudsters adapt.
A model trained on the old relationship becomes less accurate and needs retraining.
It explains why models in changing environments need continual monitoring and updating.
