We collect as little as we can. There are no advertising cookies on Nanofuze. If you accept analytics we use Google Analytics to count visits; if you decline, nothing is sent to Google.
Only what the part of the site you use needs.
Voice input uses the speech recognition built into your browser. Your browser, not Nanofuze, receives the audio: in Chrome and Edge it is processed by the browser maker's speech service, and in Safari by Apple's. Nanofuze only ever receives the resulting text. In hands-free mode the browser listens while the switch is on and Nanofuze receives only what follows "Hey Nano".
Sign-in: it is needed to give you access to the site, and our legitimate interest in keeping the service secure. Server logs: our legitimate interest in running a secure service. Messages: our legitimate interest in answering you, or taking steps you asked for. Newsletter: your consent, which you can withdraw at any time. Visit statistics: your consent, which you can withdraw at any time with Cookie settings in the footer. If you are in the UK or the European Economic Area these are the legal bases we rely on.
We use a small number of providers, who process data on our instructions:
Signals are detected by a program, not by an AI service: no language model writes them or decides how important they are.
When the daily reference refresh is switched on, we use an AI service (OpenAI) to help check and draft glossary and event updates from publicly available source text. No visitor data is sent to it.
The assistant (Nano) answers with a language model that runs on our own server. What you ask it is not sent to OpenAI or to any other outside AI company.
The signals, model and company pages are kept up to date by our server reading public data: the OpenRouter model list, the Arena leaderboard (LMArena, licensed CC BY 4.0, via Hugging Face), Hugging Face's trending models and daily papers, the public release feeds of AI software projects on GitHub, the United States Federal Register, and short descriptions from Wikipedia (CC BY-SA 4.0, credited on the page). These requests come from our server and carry nothing about visitors.
Messages are kept as long as needed to deal with them, and deleted within 12 months. Newsletter addresses are kept until you unsubscribe. Server logs are kept for a limited time, as above. Visit statistics are kept in Google Analytics for at most 14 months, then deleted automatically.
You can ask what we hold about you, ask us to correct or delete it, object to our use of it, or withdraw consent, at any time. Use the contact form and say what you would like. If you are in the UK or EEA you may also complain to your local data protection authority.
Nanofuze is not aimed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect their data.
If we change this policy we will update the date at the top. Material changes will be announced on this page.
