A vehicle that can drive itself with little or no human input.
A self-driving system chains several steps: perception (what is around me), prediction (what will others do), planning (what path to take) and control (steering and braking). It combines cameras, radar or lidar and detailed maps, or in some designs cameras alone.
Levels of automation range from driver assistance to full self-driving.
It is one of the hardest real-world AI problems, because rare, unpredictable situations must be handled safely.
