Glossary term
A document describing a model's purpose, training, performance and limitations.
A model card is a short document describing a model: what it is for, how it was trained and evaluated, how it performs for different groups, and its known limits and risks. The idea was proposed in 2019 as nutrition labels for models. Model hubs now commonly ask for one with each release.
Model cards help users decide whether a model suits their needs and what could go wrong.
