Glossary term
A document describing an AI system's capabilities, safety testing and known risks.
A system card is a longer report accompanying a major release. It describes the model's capabilities, the safety tests run, risks found and mitigations, often including red-team results.
It covers the whole system, including product safeguards, not only the model weights.
System cards are a main source of public information about how a frontier model was tested.
